Dear friend,

In thirteen days, America votes.

I know many of you are tired. Tired of the arguments. Tired of the news. Tired of being told that what you believe is wrong. Some of you have quietly wondered whether your vote even matters anymore.

I want to tell you about a woman who wondered the same thing.

The queen who wanted to stay quiet.

Her name was Esther. She was a young Jewish woman who had become queen of Persia. She lived in the palace. She was safe. Comfortable. Protected.

Then a powerful man named Haman convinced the king to sign a law. On a single day, every Jew in the kingdom would be destroyed.

Esther’s cousin Mordecai sent word to her. You must go to the king. You must speak.

But Esther was afraid. Anyone who went to the king without being called could be put to death. It would have been so much easier to stay quiet. To keep her head down. To let someone else deal with it.

Mordecai’s answer is one of the most famous lines in the Bible. Esther chapter 4 verse 14.

If you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?

For such a time as this.

What Esther did.

She did not stay quiet.

She asked her people to fast and pray for three days. And then she said something I want you to remember. Verse 16.

I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.

She went. She spoke. And the plan to destroy her people was turned upside down. Haman fell. Her people were saved.

It turned on one woman who decided her voice mattered.

Your Esther moment.

You may not live in a palace. But you have something Esther would have understood.

A voice. A vote. A place in this country at this exact moment in history.

Who knows but that you were placed here for such a time as this?

In thirteen days, do not stay home. Do not let tiredness or discouragement decide for you. Vote. Bring a friend with you if you can. And pray for three days beforehand, the way Esther did.

Before you go.

Many of you have told me that the hardest part of these weeks is not the vote. It is the conversations. With your children. Your grandchildren. Your neighbors. The people at church who think you have lost your way.

You want to explain why you believe what you believe. Calmly. From Scripture. Without it turning into a fight.

That is why I wrote my guides. And many of you asked if you could have them all together, so I put them in one collection:

They Tried To Stop Him. Why the attacks on this president follow a pattern that is three thousand years old.

Faith Under Attack. What to say when your own family mocks your faith.

Guard The Gate. The verses about borders that most pulpits never preach.

What Comes After Trump. What Scripture says about the years after 2029, and how to prepare your family for them.

The Complete Collection holds all four, and it costs less than buying them one by one. If you want to walk into these thirteen days ready, this is where I would start.

Esther could have stayed safe and silent. She chose to speak.

Thirteen days. For such a time as this.

God bless you, friend. You are not forgotten.

With you in prayer always,
Father Thomas

This week I want you to do three things:

One. Read Esther chapter 4 tonight. All seventeen verses. When you reach verse 14, read it twice and ask yourself where God has placed you for such a time as this.

Two. Make your plan to vote today. Write down the date, Tuesday, November 3rd, and where you will go. If you vote by mail, check your deadline this week.

Three. Get The Complete Collection, using the image or link above, so you are ready for every conversation these thirteen days will bring.

One last thing.

If this letter meant something to you, please forward it to two people you love. A friend from church. A brother or sister. Someone who feels as alone in these times as you sometimes do.

Many of you found these letters because someone shared them with you. Thank you for doing the same.

For my Friends of Father Thomas, I have written something more this week. The three prayers I will pray every day between now and the vote, and why.

For my Friends

Thank you for being here. Your support means I can keep writing to everyone else for free, and I do not take that lightly.

I want to share with you the three prayers I will pray every morning until November 3rd.

The first is for the country. Not for a result, but for peaceful day.
